MOCK HEATH BARS

 

1 box salted saltine crackers                           1/2 cup sugar

2 sticks butter                                 16 oz. milk chocolate chips

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil.  Cover entire sheet with single layer of crackers.  (Crackers should be touching.)  Melt 2 sticks butter with 1/2 cup sugar on stove.  Pour melted butter/sugar mixture over the crackers, covering evenly.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.  Remove, and pour chocolate chips on top.  Let the chips melt for a few minutes.  (Do not put back in oven.)  Spread the chips evenly over top of crackers like icing.  Refrigerate long enough for the chocolate to harden.  Remove from refrigerator.  Cut into squares after chocolate reaches room temperature.
