Route 66

Route 66 is a quartet new to Vienna-Falls. We formed to sing Valentines in 2002, and decided to give quartetting a whirl in earnest.

All four members of ROUTE 66 QUARTET have been singing since we were able to speak, and we spoke early and often.

We sang in music stores, on stages, and at Christmas pageants, when we weren’t pretending to be angels. We sang duets with our sisters, camp songs with the Girl Scouts, and in high school choruses, college folk groups, theatrical productions, pageants, and madrigals. We played piano (some of us badly, one of us well), oboe, clarinet, and the kazoo.

How lucky we were to have grown up in music-loving households, pounding the piano and humming the tunes of the 30’s and 40’s, as well as those of Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Billy Joel.

Alone or together, we have sung fearlessly at weddings, out of bell towers, in university coffee houses, in Ladies’ Rooms, in churches, and to our babies and any other babies who would listen.

Since we discovered Sweet Adelines, we’ve never looked back.. We’ve sung at many International Sweet Adelines Competitions, at the White House and on the Ellipse, and at Blair House.

We hail from Alabama, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kentucky, Montana, and Virginia.

We think of our lives as one long musical conversation. Let’s talk. We’re Route 66.
